Delaware State University

Delaware State University (DSU) is a fully accredited, comprehensive university located in historic Dover, Derlaware. Founded in 1891 as the State College for Colored Students, it is one of the first land-grant and historically black institutions of higher learning in the United States. The university offers undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral programs. Mathematics, Natural and Social Sciences, Education, Airway Sciences, Visual and Performing Arts, Management, Accounting and Finance, Agriculture, Natural Resources, and Nursing are some of the degree options. In addition to the academic programs, the university provides adult and continuing education, distance learning, and Air Force and Army ROTC programs. DSU encompasses six colleges in its 400-acre main campus and two satellite sites in Wilmington and Georgetown. The six colleges are the College of Agriculture and Related Sciences, College of Education and Sport Sciences, College of Health and Public Policy, College of Humanities and Social Sciences, College of Mathematics, Natural Sciences and Technology, and the School of Management. Some among the 30 buildings in the main campus are the Mishoe Science Center, the MBNA America Building, the 280-year-old Loockerman Hall, a state-of-the-art administration building, and the new apartment-style University Village residential hall complex. The William C. Jason Library, near the center of the campus, is a six-story facility that holds a wide collection of 300,000 volumes and more than 1,300 serial subscriptions. The Wilmington Campus is located in the historic Market Street Mall and the Sussex Campus on the Delaware Technical and Community College campus is in Georgetown. Both the campuses provide undergraduate, graduate, and certification programs for adult learners. To increase research endeavors, the university has developed the research infrastructure for projects in the areas of Mathematics, Applied Optics, Chemistry, Biotechnology, and others. DSU has 17 formal international partnerships with other country institutions in order to facilitate student exchanges, and research and conference collaborations.
