Band Museum is the only museum in United States dedicated to band instruments, band music and the history of band movement in America. It is housed in a refurbished old circa 1890 building, situated in Pine Bluff, Arkansas. The Band Museum is the brain child of Jerry Horne, an avid band instrument collector, whose extensive collections form the majority of the exhibits. Items on display include numerous vintage and antique band instruments – some of them dating back to early 1700s – and many rare, old and unusual one-of-a-kind instruments. The gallery, People You Might Have Known, features high school bands from all over Arkansas, some dating back to the late 1800s, and many famous musicians and band directors. Educational tours are provided for schools or any student of music. A well-equipped research library caters to research scholars.
