Wilmington College is a private, non-sectarian school located near the city of Wilmington in suburban New Castle, Delaware. Founded in 1968, the college has other locations throughout the state, which include the Graduate Center in New Castle, Dover, Dover Air Force Base, Georgetown, and the Rehoboth Beach College Information Center. The Georgetown site is located at the William A. Carter Partnership Center on the Delaware Technical and Community College Owens Campus. Accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools, the college provides under-graduate and graduate degree, certificate, and minor programs. Degree programs are offered in Behavioral Science, Information Technology and Advanced Communications, Business, Education, General Studies, Nursing, and Doctoral Studies. Certificate programs include Computer Programming, Criminal Justice, Software Systems Development, Economics for Educators, Training and Staff Development, Hispanic Cultural Certificate for Nurses, Post-Master’s Certificates for Nurses, and Post- Master’s Certificates for Nurse Practitioners. Minors in Information Technology and Advanced Communications and Business are available. Dover and Rehoboth Beach sites feature non-credit courses. The library, near the main campus in New Castle, carries a comprehensive collection of 196,000 volumes and more than 450 journals and periodicals. Wilmington College provides academic advising, career, disability, food, and housing assistance services for the students. There are no housing facilities on campus.
