California State University, San Bernardino is an integral part of California State University system. Founded in 1965, the state-supported university serves Riverside and San Bernardino counties of Southern California. The university offers more than 70 traditional baccalaureate and master degree programs and a wide variety of education credential and certificate programs. It is the only Inland Empire university to obtain prestigious national accreditation for its College of Business and Public Administration. Other colleges of the university are College of Arts and Letters, College of Education, College of Extended Learning, College of Natural Sciences, and College of Social and Behavioral Sciences. Cal State San Bernardino, designated as a National Center of Excellence for Distance Learning, satisfies the educational requirements of the civilian workforce with the U.S. Navy. It has extended its services throughout the region with an assortment of centers, institutes, partnerships, and other programs for the betterment of the community. Spread over 430 acres at the base of the San Bernardino Mountains, the campus features modern buildings, a well-equipped library, athletic opportunities, and housing options. The John M. Pfau Library holds a wide collection of more than 600,000 books, bound periodicals, and other print items. The Robert V. Fullerton Art Museum displays about 1,500 objects on ancient art, contemporary art, and ceramics. In addition to the main campus, the university has a satellite campus (Palm Desert Campus) located on Cook Street in Palm Desert.
