Atchison Hospital is a full-service community hospital in Atchison, Kansas. For nearly 100 years, the nonprofit hospital has provided health-care services to the community. Opened in 1913, Atchison Hospital offers family practice, surgery, anesthesiology, internal medicine, cardiology, obstetrics, ophthalmology, radiology, orthopedics, and sports medicine. In addition, the hospital offers home health, hospice, and spiritual services. The hospital’s Business Health Services is a complete approach to work-related health issues. It conducts worksite education, including ergonomic work site assessment, wellness, and lifting techniques. Atchison Hospital operates medical centers in Atchison, Troy, Effingham, and Nortonville in Kansas, and co-sponsors one in Weston, Missouri. Primary care also is offered through Cray Diabetics Management Center of Atchison. Atchison Hospital schedules a full continuum of community-education programs. As part of its services, the hospital conducts a cardiac/pulmonary rehab support group, Alzheimer’s support group, diabetes management, childbirth education, natural family planning, and community-education seminars. In addition, it annually sponsors a community-wide Health Fair.
