During its initial years, the fair did not have any permanent venue and was held at different locations. The county agents and the Fair Association gathered funds and purchased the land houses its current venue. The first fair, at its permanent venue, was held in 1955. Over the years, the Wyandotte County Fair has established itself as a hot venue for country-music concerts. Many famous artists launched their careers through this fair. Apart from the traditional entertainment and exhibits, the fair has attained a modern face. Newer entertainments such as rodeo shows, wild carnival rides and demolition derby are currently the major crowd pullers.
